Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Affirms Palestinian State Establishment The Only Way Towards Peace

JAKARTA - Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan reiterated his stance, normalization with Israel "only can be achieved through the formation of a Palestinian state."

Speaking in a press statement on the sidelines of a UN conference promoting a jointly sponsored two-state solution by Riyadh and Paris, Foreign Minister Faisal said this was the same position revealed more than a year ago by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

"This is based on strong belief, only through the creation of a Palestinian state, and only by fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to determine their own destiny, we can achieve sustainable peace and real integration in this region," Prince Faisal said, quoted by The Times of Israel July 29.

Foreign Minister Faisal further emphasized that the conference called "High Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution" which was held at the United Nations Headquarters, New York, United States on July 28-30 was an important step towards advancing a two-state solution, ending the occupation, and realizing a fair and sustainable peace vision in the Middle East, quoted from WAFA.

He stressed that an independent Palestinian state is the key to true peace in the region, with the importance of integrated international efforts through this conference to support the Palestinian people in building their institutions and advancing peaceful resolutions.

The resumption of a high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of Palestinian problems and the implementation of two-state solutions reflects a broad international consensus, the only way to end this prolonged conflict and the cycle of violence and suffering is a real implementation of a two-state solution based on the United Nations resolution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the principle of land for peace, he said.

In a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean-No Total Barrrot, he said Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with France and all partners, was determined to make this international consensus a reality.

"The time has come to end this conflict, realize the Palestinian state, achieve fair and comprehensive peace that maintains the sovereignty and security of all people in the region," he explained.

Foreign Minister Faisal stated that peace between Israel and Palestine is a fundamental gateway to achieving comprehensive regional peace, where all parties enjoy security, opening the horizon to cooperation, integration, and achieving mutual prosperity.
