The Ministry Of Transportation Ensures That The Line For Unloading Is On The Ketapang Crossing, Gilimanuk Returns To Smooth
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) ensures that the Ketapang (Gilimanuk) crossing service has returned to normal and smooth running, after previously having queued vehicles.
For your information, the queue occurred due to the preservation of national roads on the Gumitir Line, the main connecting route for Banyuwangi and Jember, which are currently being thoroughly repaired.
Repairing the road causes the diversion of logistics vehicles to other accesses that lead to Ketapang Port, adding to the traffic load in the area around the port.
The Director General of Sea Transportation, Muhammad Masyhud, said that based on field monitoring on both sides of the port since 04.41 WIB in Ketapang and 07.30 WITA in Gilimanuk, it was recorded that 26 ships at Ketapang Port and 27 ships at Gilimanuk Port were actively operating to serve the flow of passengers and vehicles.
The 26 ships operating at Ketapang Port consist of 14 ships at MB Pier with a pattern of 8 Trips, 10 ships at LCM Pier and 2 bridge ships at Bulusan Pier.
Meanwhile, 27 ships operating at Gilimanuk Port consist of 19 ships at MB Pier and 8 ships at LCM Pier.
"Today traffic in the port area, including vehicle loading and unloading activities, is monitored smoothly and under control, even though the cargo is dominated by logistics vehicles," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, July 29.
Meanwhile, the queue that occurred on the road to Ketapang Port was a vehicle waiting in line to enter the Buffer Zone Bulusan.
The Directorate General of Sea Transportation, continued Masyhud, has taken a number of quick and measurable steps to unravel the density of vehicles at Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk.
One of the main focuses of handling is accelerating the process of unloading goods vehicles, especially on the LCM ship track that connects Ketapang and Gilimanuk. The ships serving this route are directed to speed up docking time and load so that queues do not accumulate," he said.

In addition, two Bantuan ships were also operated at Bulusan Pier, namely KMP. Portlink VII and KMP. Tunu Pratama Jaya 5888, as an additional effort to speed up the flow of goods vehicles waiting for their turn to cross.
"We continue to maintain close coordination with operators and KSOPs to respond to any real-time operational changes," said Masyhud.
Masyhud added that the Ministry of Transportation ensures that the process of regulating cargo at the port is carried out strictly to ensure shipping safety, in accordance with applicable regulations.
"In a situation like this, shipping safety remains a top priority. We urge the public and service users to remain calm and follow official information from the Port authorities," he concluded.
