Police Investigate Alleged Illegal Parking Of IDR 50 Thousand In Malioboro Area
Yogyakarta City Police (Polresta) is investigating allegations of illegal parking practices at a rate of Rp. 50,000 in the front of the southern gate of the Yogyakarta Special Region Governor's Office, Malioboro area, Yogyakarta City.
"We are conducting an investigation, we are still investigating the truth," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Yogyakarta Police, Kompol Probo, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 28.
The investigation was carried out after a viral upload on Instagram social media showing a photo of a torn parking paper with the words: "Malioboro Park Rp50,000" accompanied by an unidentified signature.
In the upload of the @tourismailioboro account, the uploader also shared photos of the scene and the person suspected of being a parking attendant dressed in dark clothes with a censored face.
"Hello, min, maybe you can really park in front of the Governor's Office for 50 thousand on the grounds of wearing a hiace? I tourists often go to Jogja, this is what I get," wrote the account in an upload seen on Monday (28/7).
Head of the Yogyakarta City Transportation Service (Dishub) Agus Arif Nugroho stated that he had coordinated with the police to follow up on the case.

He also emphasized that the ticket shown as the upload was invalid.
"The principle of the uploaded evidence does not have legality," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Yogyakarta City Transportation Agency Parking Division, Imanudin Aziz, also emphasized that the location of the incident was not an official parking point managed by the government so that it was classified as illegal parking.
Regarding the sanctions against the parties involved, according to him, the Transportation Agency is still waiting for the results of the investigation from the police
"Parks are not licensed or wild. Just waiting for information from the Criminal Investigation Department," said Imanudin Aziz.
