West Jakarta Police Stop Investigation Of Kalideres Residents' Report On Defamation

JAKARTA - West Jakarta Metro Police issued a Letter of Dismissal of Investigation (SP2Lid) on reports from residents of Kalideres, West Jakarta, H. Japar Ali Yugo. The letter refers to Police Report No. LP/B/681/V/2025/SPKT/West Jakarta Metro Police dated May 20, 2025.

The SP2Lid was issued on July 25, 2025 and signed by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Arfan Zulkan Sipayung. The letter explains that no criminal incidents were found related to the report that occurred on May 19, 2025 in the West Jakarta District Court courtroom.

Information obtained, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKBP Arfan Zulkan Sipayung confirmed that the letter of dismissal of the investigation had been sent to the reported attorney. He explained that one of the main considerations for stopping the case was that the lawsuit that had been filed had been withdrawn in court.

Previously, H. Japar Ali Yugo was reported by Oey Giok Lan alias Lenna on suspicion of illegal land tenure. In response to this, H. Japar reported back to Lenna on suspicion of defamation and slander.

However, not long ago, the investigation into H. Japar's report was stopped by the police, which was considered too fast and incomplete.

H. Japar's attorney, Tuti Susilawati, expressed his objection to the termination of this investigation. He emphasized that the revocation of the lawsuit by Lenna actually became the basis for his client to feel slandered and defamed, especially since H. Japar attended the trial on the basis of an official summons from the court.

Our client from the start never claimed the land as his. But because there was a lawsuit against him, and then it was simply revoked by the reported party, this made our client feel slandered and harmed by good name," said Tuti.

Tuti also highlighted that in the IV's SP2HP (IV's Revised Notification Letter) dated July 15, 2025, investigators stated that they would ask for clarification from PPAT Leo Hutabarat, SH., regarding the validity of proof of land ownership in Lenna's name. However, the SP2HP ke-V on July 25, 2025, which is also the date of the issuance of SP2Lid, there is no information that the PPAT has been examined.

"The investigator should have examined the validity of the proof of ownership used in the lawsuit. Our client hopes that this report will not only stop at allegations of defamation, but also leads to efforts to uncover potential land mafia practices in the West Jakarta area," concluded Tuti.
