Continue To Find Harun Masiku, KPK Invites The Community To Help Provide Information
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the search for a fugitive suspect in the interim replacement bribery (PAW) case for members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period, Harun Masiku, was still being carried out.
This was conveyed by KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo when asked about the progress of Harun's search after PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Jakarta Corruption Court on Friday, July 25.
"KPK is still searching (for, red) HM suspects, yes, in this case," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 28.
The bribe for PAW members of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period, continued Budi, will also continue to be carried out.
"And we invite people who know the whereabouts of the person concerned (Harun Masiku, ed) to also be able to convey this information to the KPK," he said.
"Or other law enforcement officers so that they can be followed up," continued Budi.
As previously reported, Harun Masiku has been a fugitive since 2020 or for almost six years. His whereabouts were unknown after the KPK failed to arrest him during a hand arrest operation (OTT) for bribing former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.
The bribery case related to the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members for the 2019-2024 period was then developed by the KPK.
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who were advocates as well as PDIP cadres then became suspects.

Donny Tri Istiqomah has not yet been detained. He but has been questioned some time ago by KPK investigators.
Meanwhile, Hasto has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months or 3.5 years in prison by the Panel of Judges at the Corruption Court. He was found guilty of bribing former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan regarding PAW, a member of the 2019-2024 DPR.
The aggravating thing is that Hasto as a defendant does not support the eradication of corruption and independence of the KPU institution.
Meanwhile, for mitigating matters, Hasto was polite in the trial, had never been convicted, and had family responsibilities.
As for the obstruction to the investigation into the bribery case of Harun Masiku, the panel of judges stated that the indictment was not proven. This decision is lighter than the prosecutor's demands, namely 7 years in prison and a fine of Rp600 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
