Iraq Experiences Extreme Temperature, Hot Weather Reaches 51 Degree Celsius

JAKARTA - Residents in Baghdad, Iraq experienced extreme temperatures with hot weather reaching 51 degrees Celsius on Monday 28 July.

Citing AFP, Monday, July 28, as many as 46 million Iraqis experienced the impact of climate change being asked to anticipate the impact of this maximum heat.

As a result of this rising temperature, residents in Baghdad and parts of the southern region of Iraq feel a lack of clean water and drought.

This extreme temperature can reach 51 degrees Celsius in Iraq, especially in July and August.

People who are active in the center of Baghdad today are seen seeking shelter from the heat. Many of them stood in front of a fan placed near restaurants and shops.

Some pedestrians wet their faces with cold water purchased from street vendors, while drivers had to pull over by the side of the road to cool their engines.
