Ruben Amorim Asks Bruno Fernandes To Strengthen Defense Attributes
Ruben Amorom acknowledged the importance of Bruno Fernandes to help stay at Manchester United.
When it comes to attack attributes, Bruno Fernande is unquestionable. The midfielder has again proven his worth with both goals in a 2-1 win over West Ham on a pre-season tour.
Fernandes scored an incredible penalty and second goal from outside the penalty area as Manchester United started their United tour at the MetLife Stadium.
The 30-year-old could actually leave Old Trafford in June 2025 after considering a big offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
However, he decided to stay and stay at home, saying his decision was important to Manchester United.

"It was very clear last season. You can see it from the assist and the goal. Not just that."
"I think now he has more players. I felt it on tour. I feel there are now more players who can help them lead the group. That's a good thing."
"However, he is our leader, so it is very important. Not only on the pitch, but also off the pitch," said Amorim.
However, currently Bruno Fernandes is required to increase his defensive attributes. This cannot be separated from the scheme used by Amorim.
Fernandes is often used as a defensive midfielder in a 3-4-3 formation last season. The coach saw great potential from the Portuguese player if he improved his defensive abilities as well.
In addition, if Bruno Fernandes can have high defensive attributes, it is clearly very helpful for the Red Devils.
However, Amorism also has other alternatives. When against West Ham, for example, he chose Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte to stay more defensive, which allowed Fernandes to take part in one of the number 10 roles with new players Matheus Cunha.
"It's impossible to play all positions. Last year I felt sometimes I pushed him back to get more possession in the process of building attacks."
"However, then we lost Bruno near the penalty box. He gave an example. He worked very hard. Always ready."
"Sometimes he plays with pain. The problem is, sometimes he is frustrated and sometimes he loses a little focus on his job."
"Sometimes he really wants to help his teammates so sometimes it's not the best thing to do. Bruno has to wait for the ball in a different situation."
"People like this are indeed leaders, but they need help. They will get help," said Amorim.
