Student Certificate Paper That Wants To Be A Hangus Graduation In The Incident Of The Burning Of The ULM Rectorate Building
BANJARMASIN - Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) Rectorate Building on Jalan Brigadier General H Hasan Basry Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan caught fire on Monday morning, resulting in diploma paper for graduates whose plans to graduate in the near future are also charred.
"Of all the important documents that burned down, of course there was a graduate diploma whose plan was to graduate from the 175th on August 7, 2025," said Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs ULM Iwan Aflanie in Banjarmasin, Antara, Monday, July 28.
Iwan admitted that his party immediately coordinated with the ministry to ask for back the burned diploma paper, while the data was safe because it was stored digitally.
When asked whether the graduation was postponed, he stated that the decision would be taken after a leadership meeting was held soon. Iwan also explained that the room that burned down was the hall in the middle of the ULM Rectorate building.
However, at the same time, it happened that all documents at the Academic and Student Bureau, including the computer unit, were moved to the hall because the part of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau was being renovated in stages.
"Just about two weeks ago the Academics and Student Affairs Bureau moved temporarily in the burning hall today, previously in turn the General Bureau, Planning, Finance and Personnel who occupied the hall and had completed renovations," explained Iwan.
The fire incident at the ULM Rectorate building has been handled by Banjarmasin Police investigators who were backed up by the South Kalimantan Police.
The ULM Rectorate building has also installed a police line and unauthorized parties are prohibited from entering the building area during the investigation process.
