Government Targets 3 Years Of IKN Completed, House Of Representatives Commission V: Development Don't Originate
JAKARTA - Member of Commission V DPR RI Sudjatmiko responded to the government's discourse targeting the construction of the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) to be completed within three years. He reminded that IKN development should not be careless just to pursue targets.
"We see vulnerabilities in the construction of IKN. If the target is completed for 3 years, it is certain that it will be completed properly. But don't just build it by pursuing the target and then just building the origin of work," said Sudjatmiko to reporters, Monday, July 28.
Miko also reminded that the Mercusuar project should not be neglected due to the slow development process. Moreover, the project that cost the state budget in phase I of Rp. 86 trillion and the private sector of Rp. 58 trillion and phase II of the APBN burden of Rp. 48.8 trillion made the potential for vulnerability in the development of IKN.
"Therefore, it is hoped that OIKN can immediately complete it according to the target," said Miko.
On the other hand, Miko said, the development process requires serious attention in terms of transparency, sustainability and involving local communities, according to President Prabowo Subianto's vision.
According to him, there are several important notes in the availability of basic infrastructure and guarantees of quality public services for workers at IKN. Among them, protection for indigenous peoples, preservation of tropical forest environments, and other socio-economic impacts that must be comprehensively studied.
"Don't let this project become a big ambition that becomes a long-term burden due to the lack of community involvement in its planning," he said.

The PKB legislator said that his faction fully supports efforts in the development of IKN. However, said Miko, his party will criticize it as a form of encouragement so that IKN is not only a symbol of the regime but as a symbol of the progress of democracy, the environment of sustainability and social justice.
"We support the government's optimistic efforts to pursue the development of IKN, but it must be based on the sincere intention of developing the country," he concluded.
Previously, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi ensured that the government was fully committed to completing the construction of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago. IKN is expected to be completed in the next three years.
Pras also said that currently the IKN Authority is working hard to complete the development targets set by President Prabowo Subianto.
"Yesterday, we hope that the calculations will be completed in the next 3 years. The facilities needed to run the government, those there will accommodate executive functions, legislative functions and judicial functions," said Pras as he is called, at the Presidential Palace Complex, Friday, July 25.
