BEM SI Themed Demo "Indonesia (C)emas 2025" Brings 11 Demands For The Government
JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) with an estimated mass of around 1,000 people will hold a demonstration in the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Monday, July 28, 2025.
They brought 11 points of prosecution in the action entitled "Indonesia (C)emas 2025" today. The 11 demands are:
1. Strong rejection of efforts to obscure history. Reject politicization of history for the sake of the elite.
2. Urging to carry out a review of problematic articles, wider and meaningful public involvement in the discussion of bills, the obstruction to all controversial points is completed (Article 93, 145 paragraph 1, 6 paragraph 1, 106 paragraph 1, 106 paragraph 4, 23, and Article 93 paragraph 5c).
3. Urge the government to be transparent in conveying information related to bilateral agreements to protect the interests of the national economy and carry out strong diplomacy to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
4. Urge a thorough audit of enforcement mining permits, guarantees of customary participation in resource management, allocation of fair profits for affected communities and firm action on the implementation of illegal mining (illegal mining) in various regions in Indonesia.
5. Urge the Government to immediately cancel the construction of five new battalions in Aceh and immediately open specific data regarding the number of organic soldiers stationed in Aceh in accordance with the Helsinki MoU.
6. Urge the Government to cancel the construction of military courts and other facilities within the University of Riau and other universities.
7. Reject and revoke the TNI Law, and reject any form of intimidation and repression that threatens civilians.

9. Firmly reject all forms of activities that promote LGBT behavior throughout the social life sector. Urge the government to immediately formulate regulations and strict legal sanctions against actions deemed to deviate from the values of the nation's religion and culture.
10. Reject all forms of office dyafunction practices that open up opportunities for concurrent civil and military positions, or concurrent other structural positions that have the potential to damage the principles of bureaucratic professionalism in Indonesia.
11. Urge the government and the DPR to ratify the Asset Confiscation Bill.
This demonstration received a tight escort of 1,489 joint personnel from the Central Jakarta Metro Police.
Hundreds of officers were deployed to a number of strategic points, especially in South Silang Monas, in order to anticipate potential disturbances in security and traffic jams around the location of the action.
Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro appealed to the orators not to provoke the masses to commit anarchic acts.
"Convey opinions politely, do not damage public facilities, do not burn used tires, do not fight security officers, and obey the applicable rules," said Kombes Susatyo, Monday, July 28, 2025.
He also ensured that all security personnel were not equipped with firearms and were asked to prioritize a humanist approach.
"All security personnel are not equipped with firearms. Security officers will act decisively to carry out their duties. We are ready to maintain security and order, but still prioritize professionalism and persuasive attitudes in the field," he said.
