Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya Relys On Integrated Command Post For 'Stubborn' Homecomers
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is holding an Integrated Coordination Post (Posko) to monitor transportation control during the elimination of homecoming. It is stated that monitoring will be carried out from May 6 to May 24, 2021 or around 19 calendar days.
In contrast to the implementation of the post before the pandemic which was carried out to accelerate the movement of passenger transportation, this year's post was to monitor and block several roads at a number of points in order to prevent travelers who were still desperate to return to their hometowns.
"This is our effort to monitor and supervise transportation control in order to follow up on the policy to ban transportation operations for going home," said Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi as quoted from the official website, Friday, May 7.
The Minister of Transportation added that his party as the coordinator of transportation control will continue to strive intensively and consistently in guarding the policy of eliminating homecoming.
"We will coordinate intensively, conduct evaluations, studies, and visit places that must be coordinated, and provide support to all related parties," he said.
For information, this Integrated Command Post involves all elements, such as the Police, BMKG, National SAR Agency, NTSC, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, PT Jasa Marga, Jasa Raharja, and other related agencies.
The post itself is claimed to be a reference for the movement of vehicle flows at transportation nodes, namely at 48 terminals, 16 ferry ports, 50 airports, 51 ports, 9 Railway Operation Areas (Daops), and 4 Regional Divisions (Divre) of Railways.
"We also monitor a number of points on national non-toll roads and toll roads via CCTV installed in various locations," concluded the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya.
