BAJC Title Makes Zaki Ubaidillah Confident At Macau Open 2025

JAKARTA Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah's men's singles will appear more confident at the Macau Open 2025 which took place this week after he received a title from the 2025 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (BAJC).

Ubed, Ubaidillah's nickname, who is the first seed, took the highest podium at BAJC 2025 after defeating China's singles, Yang Ming Yu Liu, with 21-12 and 21-17 at Mahanan's Indoor GOR, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

"With this result, for the 2025 Macau Open tomorrow, maybe I can be more confident, but I don't want to overdo it. So, keep your focus again and don't let your guard down," said Ubed in the statement.

The title from the individual number made the 18-year-old badminton player manage to save the face of the Indonesian badminton team in this important event that took place at home.

Overall, Indonesia also received one runner-up in the mixed doubles sector through the pair Ikhsan Lintang Pramudya/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine and one semifinalist from the women's doubles sector.

As for the mixed team sector, the Indonesian junior team managed to reach the quarter-finals. The Garuda squad was stuck in that phase after being defeated by the South Korean team with a score of 109-110.

"Hopefully it can be even better (at the Macau Open 2025). In the future, I have to work hard again and don't give up easily because there is still a World Junior Championship (WJC) this year, hopefully I can win the title," said Ubaidillah.

The Macau Open 2025 with Super 300 BWF levels is scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 3, 2025. Ubaidillah is one of the four Indonesian men's singles who will appear there.

The other three names are Alwi Farhan, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo who currently does not live in the PBSI National Training Center, and Yohanes Saut Marcellyno who will start the struggle from the qualifying round.

In the first half, Ubaidillah will meet Mads Christophersen from Denmark. If both of them were able to get through the first half, then they immediately met in the second half.
