Minister Of Home Affairs Bans Open House, House of Representatives Asks Tourist Attractions To Be Closed During Eid
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of Commission II of PKB faction Luqman Hakim supports the policy of the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian which prohibits his employees from holding open houses during Eid.
This rule is based on the Circular of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 800/2794/SJ dated May 4, 2021, which contains restrictions on the number of participants to break the fast together and prohibits State Civil Apparatus from holding open houses.
According to Luqman, this policy is an appropriate step for anticipation by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
"I fully appreciate and support the policy issued by the Minister of Home Affairs", said Luqman, Friday, May 7.
However, the PKB politician hopes that both the central and regional governments will be vigilant and prepare anticipatory steps against the possibility of an explosion of tourist attractions during the Eid holiday on May 6-17 tomorrow.
According to him, it would be better if, during the Eid holiday, all local governments do not allow the opening of tourist attractions in their respective regions, aka closed.
Because, said Luqman, anticipatory policies issued by the central government, such as banning homecoming, restrictions on breaking the fast together, prohibiting open houses for State Civil Apparatus's, and so on, do not be damaged and in vain because the government does not calculate the threat of the COVID-19 storm that comes from tourist places during the Eid holidays.
"Please open again after the Eid holiday May 6-17, as long as the government can ensure the implementation of strict health protocols at tourist destinations. Remember, people's safety is the highest law", he said.
Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, asked regional heads to prohibit open house and halal bi halal activities after Eid al-Fitr 1442.
In the Circular Letter, he asked Governors, Regents, and Mayors throughout Indonesia to limit gathering activities during Ramadan not to exceed the nuclear family plus five people.
"Instructing all officials / ASN in the region, prohibited from conducting open houses/halal bi halal in the framework of Eid Al-Fitr 1442 H/the Year 2021", said Tito in point B of his circular received in Jakarta, Thursday, May 6.
