Children Are At A Bet, The Head Of Commission IX Urges To Revoke The Permit Of The Negligent MBG Institution
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX DPR RI Charles Honoris asked the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to immediately revoke the permit for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which was proven negligent and endangered the safety of children in providing Free Nutrition Food (MBG).
According to Charles, BGN should not only focus on pursuing the number of beneficiaries after getting a large budget allocation. He emphasized that aspects of quality and food safety must be a top priority.
"The most important thing is the quality of the benefits of MBG itself," said Charles in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, July 27.
He also reminded the results of the previous meeting between Commission IX of the DPR, BGN, and the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), where it was agreed that BPOM should be actively involved in the process of supervising the provision of MBG in all regions.
"It should be remembered that the conclusion of the meeting in the commissions in the DPR is an official document whose decision is binding," he said.
Charles emphasized that BGN together with its entire network in the field must be able to ensure that every food provided is completely safe and fit for consumption by children who will be the successors of the nation.
Previously, President Prasbowo targeted recipients of the MBG program to reach 20 million children before the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
