Member Of The DPRD Desak Pramono Limits The Position Period Of The Sub-District Head-Lurah To A Maximum Of 3 Years

JAKARTA - Member of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Nuchbatillah, proposed that the term of office of the sub-district and village heads in Jakarta be limited to a maximum of three years. He considered that there were no regulations related to the term of office opening up opportunities for abuse of authority.

"If necessary, we will decide or create a new governor regulation (regulation), a maximum of three years," said Nuchbatillah in his statement, Sunday, July 27, 2025.

According to the Gerindra Party politician, too long a term of office often creates practices that deviate from the main duties and functions of the sub-district head or village head.

One of them, he said, is involvement in matters that should be out of authority.

"If he has been in office for a long time, he will work on those who are not his main duties. Such as being involved in the RT, RW, LMK elections. So that people who are close to him can become administrators," he said.

Nuchbatillah also admitted that he received many complaints from residents who said that critical community leaders were not given the opportunity to become heads of RT or RW.

"As a result, the region is difficult to develop. This is a real example that is not good. That's why this is the right moment to make the latest Pergub. It can't be more than three years," he said.

In addition, he also highlighted the number of sub-district and village heads that had not been filled. Nuchbatillah urged the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to immediately accelerate the process of filling the position.

"If possible next month everything will be filled out. Don't take too long," he said.

Based on data from the DKI Jakarta Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) as of July 2025, there are six sub-district heads that are still empty of a total of 44 sub-districts. Meanwhile, the vacant village head positions reached 33 out of a total of 267 urban villages.
