Lorjhu 'Shows Expressive And Entertaining At BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo
PROBOLINGGO - Lorjhu appeared to open BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo which took place at the Java Resort Bromo Jiwa, Probolinggo on Saturday, July 26. This is the first stage of Badrus Zeman (vocals, guitar) leading his unit to appear in a music event that carries a "jazz".
As a unit that brings the Madura narrative, Lorjhu appears to perform their own works. After opening a repertoire with Intro, they performed Nemor, a song from the album Paseser (2022).
Next, songs such as Laconah Oreng Manceng, Kembang Koning, Jhajhan No'Mano'An, Parenduan, Abrantal Ombak, and Can Macanan are displayed.
Badrus cs displays expressive music. Although jazz-style 'tiltedness' is not heard, they bring the main essence of jazz music itself, namely 'comforting'.
For his appearance this time, Badrus admitted that he was surprised when the promoter first contacted him to appear. Initially, the musician who was also a teacher had thought about making a special arrangement that was more lively.
"At first I thought so. Personally, before the other friends knew Lorjhu playing at the Mount Jazz, I thought what should be azz. But after seeing a lot of line-up in previous years, our music should also be able to enter," said Badrus, met by Ivan Two Putra from VOI after the performance.

Lorjhu tried to appear as it is, with a contemporary rock style that is thick with the nuances of the Madura coast. Moreover, Mount Jazz, as Butet Kartaredjasa said last week, was also intended to display Indonesian ethnic music with the spirit of improvising jazz.
However, Badrus said that this appearance requires careful preparation. With the personnel and session players who have other jobs, they try hard enough to determine the training schedule.
"You could say that at this Mount Jazz event we practice the most. Because we think about it, jazz people watch it like that," said Badrus.
In addition to Lorjhu', BRI Jazz Gunung Series 2 Bromo also features special shows Monita Tahalea, Bintang Indrianto Trio, Natasya Elvira ft. Bromo Jazz Camp, Tohpati Ethnomission, Badminton (France), and Sal Priadi.
