MAKI Calls Riza Chalid In Malaysia, Allegedly Married To Relatives Sultan
JAKARTA - It is believed that the suspect in the alleged corruption case of raw oil management, Muhammad Riza Chalid, is currently in Malaysia and is suspected of having married a relative of the sultan from a neighboring state.
This was conveyed by the Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman quoting Antara. He said that the marriage was suspected to have been carried out four years ago.
"In this context, I have confirmed that Riza Chalid is in Malaysia, and is suspected of having married a person who has ties to the king or sultan in Malaysia, four years ago," said Boyamin.
According to information obtained by Boyamin, Riza Chalid married a relative of the sultan from the state with the initials J or the state with the initials K.
"If not from state J, from state K," he said.
He said Riza Chalid currently mostly lives in Johor, Malaysia.
Based on his findings, Boyamin stated that he would recommend the Attorney General's Office to immediately submit an official red notice application. According to him, through a red notice, the Malaysian police will comply with Interpol regulations so as to facilitate the arrest of Riza Chalid.
"Although extradition efforts can still be made, they still have to seek a red notice," said Boyamin.
On the other hand, if the Red Notice cannot be carried out, Boyamin encourages hearings in absentia without the presence of Riza Chalid, so that Riza Chalid's domestic assets or assets and abroad can be confiscated and or frozen, because it can be subject to the money laundering article.
