France Admits Palestine Is A New Hope For The Realm Of World Peace

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Institute of Democracy and Education (IDE) Indonesia Gugun Gumilar responded positively to French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to recognize the Palestinian state, which could open up new hopes for the realization of world peace.

"We, the Indonesian people, are delighted by this news. French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to declare his intention to recognize this Palestinian country opens new hopes for the realization of world peace," Gugun quoted Antara as saying.

He is also looking forward to other countries to make the same attitudes and decisions so that we can all build a just civilization of mankind.

Gugun, who is also the Special Staff of the Minister of Religion in the field of cooperation and foreign relations, revealed that removing colonialism above the world is the mandate of the 1945 Constitution.

"The 1945 Constitution which is our guideline in the nation and state has firmly stated that colonialism above the world must be abolished. Therefore, our support and countries in the world, one of which is France for Palestine, is an important commitment for mankind to be dignified in eradicating colonialism and imperialism in the modern era," he said.

In addition, Gugun also emphasized France's support as a positive signal for peace in the Middle East as the spirit of the 1955 Asian Asian Summit.

"The support of the French President will be a positive signal for peace in the Middle East, as conveyed by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We must end the conflict in the Middle East. All nations in this world must feel the pleasure of peace, as the founders of our nation fought for through the 1955 Asia Africa Summit in Bandung," he said.

He also thanked President Macron for the proud and hopeful decision for the future of the world.

"We, the Indonesian people, express our highest gratitude and appreciation to President Macron. France's stance in supporting Palestine is a positive attitude and step to ensure the future prospects for the founding of a sovereign, just and independent Palestinian state through a two-state solution," said Gugun.

Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) stated that Indonesia welcomed President Macron's decision to recognize the Palestinian state.

According to the statement of the official account X @Kemlu_RI in Jakarta, Saturday (26/7), this recognition is a positive step to ensure the future prospects for the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state through a two-state solution.

"The establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian State, based on the agreed territory in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, through a Two-State Solution," the statement said.

In addition, Indonesia also urges all countries that have not recognized the Palestinian state to follow France's steps.
