BMKG Estimates Wind Speed To Reach 8-20 Knots In North Sulawesi Waters
The wind speed in the waters of North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi) is estimated to be between 8-20 knots.
"In general, the dominant wind blows from the southeast - southwest at a speed of 8 - 20 knots," said BMKG Coordinator for Observation and information at the Bitung Maritime Meteorological Station, Ricky D Aror in Manado quoting Antara.
The highest wind speed, said Ricky, has the potential to occur in the waters of North Minahasa Regency and the waters of the Sitaro Islands Regency.
According to him, this condition can increase the wave height in these waters.
"BMKG issued an early warning of high waves until July 30, 2025," he added.
Ricky said that the wave height between 1.25 - 2.5 meters (medium) is likely to occur in the waters of North Minahasa Regency, the waters of Sitaro Islands Regency, the waters of Sangihe Islands Regency and the waters of Talaud Islands Regency.
