Sammy Simorangkir Expressed One Regret While Still A Kerispatih Vocalist
JAKARTA - Sammy Simorangkir expressed one of his regrets while he was a member of Kerispatih, when he was a witness in the judicial review of the Copyright Law at the Constitutional Court this week.
The 42-year-old singer said Kerispatih decided to record and release songs by Badai because the keyboardist was the oldest among other personnel.
At that time, our decision was chosen so that there was no potential to argue with each other, we chose the song that was chaired in the band, Badai's brother, "said Sammy.
Unfortunately, Sammy had to accept the fact that he was kicked out of the band. In fact, he was prohibited from performing Kerispatih's songs after solo career.
But when asked about the more lucrative position between the songwriter and the singer, Sammy reflected on Kerispatih's case and said songwriters were more profitable.
"Even if I'm not mistaken, when I founded the band (Kerispatih), who created the most songs, did get the most royalties," he said.

Seeing the position of the songwriter who is more profitable, especially with the chaos about copyright today, Sammy admits that he regrets not fighting for his song to be released with Kerispatih.
"You know that we used to debate all out, who the song was going to be used for. Because at that time we were new, we were still new in that world, yes we just, "Never mind, the song that we just announced, so we don't argue much, so that the band also lasts forever, doesn't make a fuss," said the Batak-blooded singer.
"But if I know this, I used to want to argue, Your Majesty. Because I also want my song to be used. If I know it turns out that the royalties are very unequal with the relevant rights," he concluded.
