UN Agency: Gaza Faces Mass Starvation Created And Deliberately
JAKARTA - The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) said mass hunger in the Gaza Strip was "bued up and intentional."
They said the aid distribution mechanism, supported by Israel and the US, known as the "Gata Humanitarian Foundation," or GHF, was formed to smooth out "military and political goals."
"The mass trafficking was intentional and planned. Today, more children died, their bodies were thin because of hunger," the statement was reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, July 26.
They stressed "the deformed distribution system (GHF) was not designed to address the humanitarian crisis."
UNRWA emphasizes the system "serves military and political purposes. This system is cruel because it takes more lives than save lives."
The agency explains that under the system, Israel controls "all aspects of humanitarian access, both outside and inside Gaza."
Since May 27, Tel Aviv has started implementing its aid distribution plan through "Gaza Humanitarian Organization," a mechanism supported by Israel and the US but rejected by the United Nations and major humanitarian organizations.

UNRWA noted that during the previous ceasefire in 2025, which began in January and was later not implemented by Israel in March, they "reverted deepening hunger."
The agency added that currently, UNRWA itself has 6,000 food and medical aid trucks stuck in Egypt and Jordan."
UNRWA has repeatedly called for the reactivation of the UN-supervised aid distribution mechanism to help alleviate the hunger crisis in Gaza.
Since March 2, Israel has not implemented a ceasefire and deals with prisoner swaps with Hamas and closed Gaza crossings, resulting in hundreds of aid trucks stranded on the border.
Israel rejects international calls for a ceasefire and continues to carry out brutal attacks on Gaza since late 2023, killing more than 59,600 Palestinians.
Deaths from hunger have surged in recent days due to months-long blockades and poor distribution of aid by the controversial GHF aid agency.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing genocide cases at the International Court over its war in the enclave.
