Isuzu Collaborates With Ex-Proving Ground For Quality And Security Tests
TANGERANG - PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) strengthens its commitment to maintaining the quality and security of vehicles, both for the domestic market and exports.
One of the strategic steps taken is to take advantage of international standard vehicle test facilities, namely the Proving Ground BPLJSKB (Roadworthy Testing Station and Motor Vehicle Certification) in Bekasi.
This step was announced at a special talk show entitled 'Ensuring Vehicle Quality Through National Testing Facilities' which was held on Friday, July 25, in the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) series.
This collaboration involved PT IAMI together with the Ministry of Transportation and received full support from the Automotive Journalists Forum (FORWOT) as one of the important stakeholders in the national automotive industry.
This Proving Ground is built through a Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme, and is designed to meet the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (ASEAN MRA) standards.
Thus, the results of vehicle testing carried out in Indonesia will be recognized by other ASEAN countries. This is an important breakthrough because vehicle type testing no longer needs to be carried out abroad, which has so far caused high cost burdens and technical barriers in exports.
"Isuzu welcomes the presence of the Proving Ground as an important means to maintain the quality and security of our vehicles in accordance with Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (UU LLAJ). The existence of this facility in Indonesia will also accelerate the process of technical validation in accordance with global regulations and ASEAN, so that our products will be more competitive not only in the national market and international markets," said PT IAMI's Business Strategy Division Head Rian Erlangga, when met, Friday, July 26.
More than just cost efficiency, the use of Proving Ground is also part of Isuzu's efforts to support emission reduction, increased traffic safety, and the application of the latest emission standards. This is in line with the vision of environmental conservation and development of future automotive technology.
With operational targets starting August 2025, the BPLJSKB Proving Ground is projected to be one of the most modern vehicle testing centers in Southeast Asia.
