LMKN Chair Will Reveal More Than 140 Promotors Have Not Paid Royalties At The Constitutional Court Session

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN) Dharma Oratmangun said, there are still many copyright users who are still naughty and do not pay royalties.

With the judicial review of the Copyright Law in progress at the Constitutional Court, Dharma stated that his party would open hundreds of music promoters to karaoke businesses that ignore their obligations.

There are more than 140 (music promoters who have not paid royalties). Later, look at the list at the Constitutional Court, next week. There are more than 140, more than 500 karaokes available," Dharma told media crew in Gambir, Central Jakarta recently.

He also highlighted the legal efforts made by the Collective Management Institute (LMK), one of which was the determination of the suspect in the management of Mie Gacoan by the Bali Police Special Criminal Investigation Directorate after it was reported that the Indonesian Music License Center (SELMI) was reported.

Criminal efforts, said Dharma, indicate that the patience that has run out for creative users continues to avoid their obligations.

"We have a lot of lists. There are more than 100 event organizers, then karaoke houses, to malls that haven't paid for it. Well, let's just go through the legal process," said Dharma. We are tired of talking, they don't know and so on, yes, the legal mechanism is running.

He added, That's part of maintaining the essence of copyright that is authorized as well as related rights that are authorized. Whether he is civil or criminal, please run it, each has a legal study. The patience of copyright owners in LMK and LMKN is already at a point that cannot be compromised anymore.
