Airlangga Said The Government Would Provide Airline Ticket Discounts To Trains
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government would continue to provide economic stimulus to maintain people's purchasing power, especially ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) moments.
Airlangga conveyed that the stimulus to be given includes discounted transportation rates, plane tickets, trains, and toll roads.
"(Diskon) planes, toll roads, mostly trains," he told the media crew, Friday, July 25.
In order to welcome Christmas and New Year 2025, the government is also discussing a discount program which is expected to contribute to the national economy.
"The program will be Christmas New Year, we discussed the discounts yesterday, we hope that it can be announced earlier," he said.
However, he emphasized, the provision of discounted electricity rates is not included in the stimulus that will be given by the government for the second semester of 2025.
The plan is for the provision of this stimulus package to be announced no later than September 2025 and valid for two months, namely December 2025 to January 2026.
For information, the government has previously rolled out various economic stimuli in the period June to July 2025, coinciding with school holidays, to encourage domestic consumption and maintain people's purchasing power.
The economic stimulus package from June to July 2025 with a total allocated budget of IDR 24.44 trillion.
In detail, Rp23.59 trillion comes from the state budget, and Rp850 trillion from non-APBN.
The purpose of providing this incentive is to maintain Indonesia's economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 approaching 5 percent. The economic stimulus package consists of five policies.
First, a transportation discount consisting of a 30 percent discount on train tickets, a 50 percent discount on sea transportation tickets, and a government-borne VAT facility (DTP) for airplane tickets of 6 percent. The budget prepared to provide the discount is IDR 940 billion.
Second, a toll tariff discount of 20 percent with a target recipient of 110 million motorists with a budget of Rp. 650 billion.
Third, provide support to the most vulnerable and poor groups through the thickening of social assistance by providing additional food card assistance worth IDR 200,000 per month and food assistance in the form of 10 kg of rice per month.

Fourth, provide wage subsidy assistance (BSU) worth IDR 300,000 per month to 17.3 million workers who have a salary of less than IDR 3.5 million per month or below the provincial/district/city minimum wage.
Fifth, the Government will extend the discount on work accident insurance (JKK) contributions by 50 percent for 2.7 million workers in 6 labor-intensive industrial sub-sectors for 6 months. The budget comes from non-APBN amounting to Rp 200 billion.
