Minister Of Home Affairs' Response To BUMD Loss Due To Position Filled With Timses, Pramono Claims Jakarta Has No Deposit

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung responded to Tito Karnavian about the manynias of regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) in Indonesia whose losses due to the positions of directors and commissioners were filled by a successful team of regional heads who served.

For Pramono, Tito's statement became an plaintiff for regional heads not to abuse their authority to fill BUMD positions.

"Regarding the loss of BUMD due to many deposits, I thank the Minister of Home Affairs. Hopefully, the Minister of Home Affairs often says that so that I can manage Jakarta without being entrusted," said Pramono in Sarinah, Central Jakarta, Friday, July 25.

While leading Jakarta, Pramono claimed not to fill the position of BUMD directors subjectively. He made sure he would choose professionally.

"For the board of directors, I do not open opportunities for anyone to leave. For the board of directors, yes, because the one who runs the board of directors," said Pramono.

It is different with the position of commissioner. According to Pramono, filling the position of commissioner by close people or timses is not a problem.

As is known, a few months ago, Pramono appointed Lies Hartono or Cak Lontong who is the former head of his campaign team in the 2024 Pilkada to become Commissioner of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol.

"The commissioners only carry out supervision. The important thing is (directors) who carry out it," he continued.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian said that as many as 300 BUMDs suffered losses in the management of the company with a figure of Rp. 5.5 trillion. This was revealed by Tito in a working meeting with Commission II of the DPR RI.

"What may need to be the attention of all of us, that the number of BMDs suffered losses is approximately 300 BUMDs, 27.50 percent (of the total BUMDs)," said Tito at the DPR building, Wednesday, July 16.

One of the factors that caused BUMD to not profit and even lose money, according to Tito, was because many high-ranking company officials were held by the success team of regional heads who are currently in office.

"Some of the problems that make you unhealthy are the first to be unprofessional. Yes, sometimes many are in the BUMD from the success team. Yes, it's okay to be professional. But if you're not professional, it's a burden, both directors and commissioners or employees," explained Tito.

From this condition, Tito emphasized that the losing BUMD actually burdened the local government.

Because often the state-owned company asks for an injection of regional capital participation allocated from the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD).

"In the end, it didn't work, it didn't work. Finally, asking for life to be given an injection from the APBD. The APBD was injected not to make him healthy. For operational costs. Add more tore. Change the regional head. Continued with the new regional head. Maybe it can also improve, it can also burden it again. So the burden of the next regional head is again," said Tito.
