Sentenced To 3.5 Years In Prison, Hasto: I Am A Victim Of Communication With Subordinates

Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto said he was a victim of the communication of his subordinates in the bribery case for handling changes between the time (PAW) of the DPR.

In that case, Hasto was found guilty and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 250 million.

"I became a victim of the communication of my subordinates, where in this trial I have also stated all the funds, under oath, they came from Harun Masiku," said Hasto at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, July 25.

According to him, in the case decisions number 18 and 28 of 2020, it has been explained in detail about the source of the money used to bribe the Commissioner of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan from Harun Masiku.

"It is very clear, the statement of Saiful Bahri's brother, Donny Tri Istiqomah in this trial as well, all the sources of funds came from Harun Masiku," he said.

In fact, Hasto said that one of the important facts regarding the first phase of funds given by Harun Masiku was not Rp. 400 million. The nominal amount is Rp. 750 million.

"As a result, the brain for Rp600 is reduced by Rp200 to Rp400. But it is Rp750 million," said Hasto.

In this case, Hasto is considered to have been proven to have given bribes together and continued. The panel of judges sentenced Hasto to 3.5 years in prison.

In addition to imprisonment, the panel of judges also imposed a fine on Hasto Kristiyanto of Rp250 million.

The criminal fine is imposed on the condition that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for three months.

"The defendant Hasto Kristiyanto has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison," said Judge Rios.

Hasto was proven to have violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
