Dozens Of Ringsek Vehicles As A Result Of Being Hit By A Blong Brake Container

JAKARTA - A container truck is suspected of having failed brakes and crashing into dozens of vehicles at the traffic light on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulomas, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Friday, July 25, 2025.

"A container truck lost power for braking. So when the brake pedal was pressed, it couldn't pass, so a series of accidents ended up involving dozens of vehicles," said Head of Pulogadung Police, AKP Gede Oka at the location.

Dozens of these vehicles consist of nine four-wheeled vehicles and five two-wheeled vehicles.

AKP Oka said this incident was triggered when a container vehicle experienced a failed brake when it approached the red light. Then, the truck swerved to the right.

"Initially the container vehicle could not control the brake. When pressed, the brake pedal sold, so the driver swerved to the right. At that time the traffic conditions were stopped because of the red light," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the car drivers who was the victim named Edi said the container car slid uncontrollably and hit many vehicles in front of it.

"We were on a red light, suddenly the container car came from behind. There were about five cars and ten motorbikes that were hit, but we don't know for sure. Many motorbikes were injured," said Edi.

Currently, all vehicles involved have been evacuated to the East Jakarta Regional Traffic Accident Unit for further investigation.

Police are still examining the container driver and investigating the technical cause of the failed brake. Meanwhile, one motorcyclist was injured and has been rushed to the Cempaka Putih Hospital.
