The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Affirms That The Subsidy Quota Will Not Increase Even Though The Kopdes Are Invited To Sell 3 Kg Of Elpiji

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) emphasized that it will not increase the subsidy quota in the 2025 State Budget even though it has allowed the Red and White Village Cooperatives to participate in distributing 3 kilograms (kg) of LPG.

Acting (Plt) Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, said that the Village Cooperative had indeed been given a role as a sub-baseline to distribute 3 kg of LPG.

"No (increase the subsidy quota). In fact, it should have dropped," Tri Winarno told the media, Thursday, July 24.

He explained that the spread of LPG through the Red and White Village Koerasi will support the distribution of subsidized LPG which is more evenly distributed and on target so that it can be accepted by the people who are entitled

"Say a thousand. Then there's a lot of dilution, that's it. Now, it means that a thousand is divided into 10, so it's 100-100. For example, if a thousand is divided by 2 it's 500-500. That's about it," he explained.

When asked about Elpiji Satu Harga, Tri said the government would not rely on the Red and White Cooperative.

"Not really, everyone doesn't have to go through him (Kopdes). But what is clear, it will be for the Red and White, it will have to be sub-based," said Tri.

Although he has established the Merah Putih Village Cooperative as a sub base, Tri said that the potential for misappropriation of the nutrients is still a challenge for the government. However, he ensured that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources would strengthen the data-based data collection and supervision system.

"There will be another system to be made. But hopefully it will be more precise," he said.

Previously, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Simon Aloysius Mantiri, revealed that Pertamina took a role in the distribution of LPG through the Red and White Cooperative.

Simon menegaskan, peran Pertamina sebagai BUMN energi bukan hanya memastikan ketersediaan energi, tetapi juga menjadi bagian dari upaya membangun ekonomi kerakyatan yang kuat berbasis perdesaan.

"Melalui program ini, Pertamina mendukung dan mendorong pemerataan akses energi sekaligus memperkuat ekonomi desa sebagai bagian dari pembangunan nasional," ujar Simon, Senin, 21 Juli.

Dia menambahkan, Pertamina berkomitmen mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan desa, salah satunya melalui distribusi elpiji di koperasi desa, sehingga memperluas akses masyarakat desa terhadap produk elpiji.

Simon emphasized that Pertamina's role as an energy SOE not only ensures the availability of energy, but is also part of efforts to build a strong rural-based populist economy.

"Through this program, Pertamina supports and encourages equal access to energy while strengthening the village economy as part of national development," said Simon, Monday, July 21.

He added that Pertamina is committed to supporting improving village welfare, one of which is through the distribution of LPG in village cooperatives, thus expanding village community access to LPG products.
