Police Long Road Investigate Cause Of Death Of Foreign Ministry Diplomat

The cause of death of the Deputy Expert Diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Ary Daru Pangayunan is still a question mark. The police took a long time to collaborate with several experts to uncover the mystery.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said the first expert involved was the forensic medical team.

The team from the National Central General Hospital Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM) is tasked with autopsying Ary Daru Pangayunan's body.

"To find out the cause of death, the same will also be explained by experts who estimate the hour of death," Ade told reporters, Thursday, July 24.

In the autopsy process, toxicology will also be carried out. The goal is to find out the chemicals or toxins in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' body.

There is also a histopologies examination. Several organ samples in Ary Daru Pangayunan will be examined to ensure whether there is an internal disease.

Not only that, the Inafis team has also been deployed to check the finished fingerprints from the scene, including the items in the boarding room.

"Then the third, investigators also during the crime scene processing checked that the items took several DNA samples for the DNA examination process," he said.

Furthermore, laboratory examinations were carried out on electronic evidence such as laptops, cellphones, and CCTV. Specifically for surveillance camera recordings, investigators also confiscated from 20 location points.

The CCTV footage ranged from the boarding house environment to the places Ary Daru Pangayunan had visited before being found dead.

"Starting from the smallest circle from the crime scene, namely the victim's boarding house environment. Then several places that have been visited by the victim for the last 7 days, yes. Then also the locations where the victim works," said Ade.

Still related to digital evidence, a team from the Cyber Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya was also deployed. In fact, investigators explored the background of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomat to find clues.

"Investigators are also investigating the background of the victim, namely by carrying out and involving a team of experts from forensic psychology. We are also doing this to collect this incident in its entirety," said Ade.

Arya Daru Pangayunan was found dead in the 'Gues House Gondia' in the 105th room, Jalan Gondangdia Kecil, No 22, Cikini Village, Menteng District, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 8.

When found, the body of Arya Daru Pangayunan was covered in plastic and duct tape in yellow. Currently, the cause of death is unknown.
