Vice President Gibran: I Discussed The Ministry Of Justice Ribut, Discussed AI Ribut Too, What's Wrong?

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka seemed surprised that many were fussing about when he discussed the downstreaming ofTENness which was considered as valuable as nickel.

While attending the 2025 Green Impact Festival in Jakarta, Gibran had mentioned the downstream program which became the raw material for making perfumes.

"Does anyone wear perfume or not? It's made from fire. It's not just a shaman who wears clothes. I'm talking about noise, discussing AI (artificial intelligence/AI) making a fuss too. What's wrong with AI?" Gibran asked the audience when he was a speaker at the 2025 Green Impact Festival in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 24.

Previously, when providing briefing at the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) last week, Gibran told the results of his working visit to the Humbang Hasundutan research center, North Sumatra.

When visiting the research center, Gibran found the benefits of winning. When discussing the downstreaming issue, Gibran admitted that he received scorn because fun is often used in the world of shamanism.

"I once talked about the downstreaming ofTENness, many laughed, 'Wongelapan buat dukun'. Salah! Kemenyan itu sama berharganya dengan nikel," kata Gibran di Lemhannas.

On a separate occasion, the National Economic Council (DEN) pushed the downstreamelaboration to strengthen the local economy and improve the welfare of farmers in North Sumatra.

"Downstreaming is not only a matter of creating added value from natural wealth, but also how the economic benefits can flow to villages where these resources come from," said DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, last May.

Luhut assessed thatnicity is a commodity that is often neglected despite its large value and real impact on society, especially in North Tapanuli and Humbang Hasundutan.

In fact, natural turmoil from North Sumatra is the best in the world and has been exported to many countries in Asia and Europe.
