Como Doesn't Want To Rule Out The Possibility Of Bringing Lionel Messi

JAKARTA - Como coach, Cesc Fabregas, said Lionel Messi likes to play in the United States, but does not rule out his former Barcelona team-mate joining the Serie A club one day.

Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, was seen with her three children in the stands in Como's pre-season win over Lille last week.

It sparked speculation that the Inter Miami captain might be considering moving to the city in northern Italy.

When asked if Messi, who won eight Ballon d'Or, in the future could play for Como, Fabregas was optimistic.

"Never say no. He (Antonela) is at my house on vacation for a week with us because Leo (Messi) will be playing in Cincinnati and New York for another week."

"They (the Messi family) take the time to vacation and meet friends. We are very close friends, our wives are good friends, our children are age."

"After the (ille) match, I told (Como Sports Director) Charly Ludi that we couldn't say Messi didn't play at Como because his children played here."

"It's always beautiful because of the history we have. However, no, he (Messi) is very happy in the United States, so let's calm down," Fabregas said ahead of the inaugural match at the Como Cup against Al Expert.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old is in talks to extend his contract with Inter Miami, whose contract expires in December 2025.

Fabregas, who brought Como to finish in 10th place in Serie A 2024/2025, has a contract with the Lombardia club until June 2028.
