A Row Of Traditional Games Must Be Preserved For The Future Generation

JAKARTA - In today's modern era, technology is used by all age groups, including children. Not infrequently children now spend more time playing gadgets, than enjoying playing games with their peers.

In fact, traditional Indonesian games are very diverse that have existed for a long time and are interesting to play with. Therefore, it is important for Indonesians to preserve traditional games in order to still be played by children in the future.

1. Egrang

Egrang is an individual game played with a pair of bamboo which is equipped with a foot foundation. The key to this game is balance. Many play an eggrang by competing in speed with their opponents.

2. Jump rubber

Rubber jump is a traditional game that is usually played in groups. This game uses rubber which is formed into a long rope, with various stages of jumping in playing it.

3. Congklak

This one game is played by two people, using a porous board and ordinary black or white ware, such as shells or stones. In this game, a tactical battle is needed to collect as many seeds as possible to become winners.

4. Engklek

Engklek is a traditional game played by jumping with one leg, in boxes drawn on the ground. Engklek trains the rarity, balance, agility, and motor skills of the child.

5. Gasing

This game is played by involving an integer object with a rotating axis using a rope. This game requires expertise in rotating and maintaining a gasing balance to keep it rotating as long as possible.
