Peaceful Negotiations, Ukraine-Russia Attack Each Other In Black Sea Areas
JAKARTA - Ukraine and Russia launched airstrikes along the coast of the Black Sea on Thursday morning, respectively. The attack came hours after brief direct negotiations between the two countries failed to reach progress in steps to end the war that had lasted nearly three and a half years.
Russian troops launched the latest mass drone attacks from a series of attacks on Ukraine's Black Sea port, Odesa, which injured four people and caused several fires and damage to the historic center.
The well-known Pryvoz market in lechery is among the affected places, said the Regional Governor by goalkeepers.
"This is not just a place to trade, but a heart to life," he said.
On Thursday morning, several residents cleaned broken glass on the surrounding streets.
"Indeed, why if (the drone) was flying? We will shoot down; they will not destroy us," Yevhen, a 20-year-old student who helped clean up, told Reuters.
Emergency response officers in Russia's Krasnodar region, in the Black Sea, said debris from a fallen drone hit and killed a woman in Adler's district, near the tourist city of Sochi.
Another woman is being treated in hospital due to serious injuries.
Federal district chief administration Sirius in southern Sochi said drone hit the oil base, without providing further details.
Russian aviation authorities said operations at Sochi airport were temporarily suspended for about four hours.
Russia also attacked the central Cherkasy area last night, wounding seven people, including a nine-year-old child, and destroying more than a dozen apartment buildings.
Negotiators had previously discussed further prisoner exchanges in a brief session of peace negotiations in the city of Istanbul, Turkey, but they have yet to reach an agreement on the terms of a ceasefire and a possible meeting of their leaders.
"Yesterday, in a meeting in Istanbul, a proposal was submitted again to immediately and completely stop the fire. In response, a Russian drone attacked a residential building," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
