South African Woman Arrested For Smuggling Methamphetamine In Underwear While Landing In Bali
DENPASAR - The National Narcotics Agency of Bali Province revealed the chronology of a foreigner from South Africa named Lungile Ntombenhle Mzimela (32) smuggling methamphetamine in his underwear.
"The results of the examination of LN found narcotics in black underwear," said Head of the Bali BNNP Eradication, Kombes Sinar Subawa, Thursday, July 24.
Subawa explained that LN was promised to get a salary of Rp. 25 million if it succeeded in delivering drug packages to customers in Bali.
The woman who works as an online seller of methamphetamine from Johannesburg to Bali on the orders of a person named Sindi, to be handed over to someone in Bali.
He was arrested on Sunday, July 13, 2025 after Singapore Airlines flight number SQ 946 on the Singapore-Denpasar route landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Initially, Ngurah Rai Customs and Excise officers suspected that LN would pass the Customs and Excise examination.
Furthermore, after the inspection procedure was carried out using an x-ray machine on passengers' belongings named LN, officers secured a plastic package containing narcotics type methamphetamine weighing 990.83 grams net, which was found in the underwear he was using.
In addition, cash in the amount of 100 dollars and Rp. 1,002,000, as well as other narcotics evidence were also secured.
Due to this incident, Customs and Excise Officers coordinated with BNNP Bali to jointly carry out case development.

However, after a few days Sindi did not provide information about the recipient of the methamphetamine until finally Sindi's number could no longer be contacted so that the controlled delivery could no longer be carried out.
LN was charged with Article 113 Paragraph (2) Or Article 112 Paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
