Barcelona Prepares Three Names Of Elite Replacement Lewandowski In Summer 2026
JAKARTA - Barcelona are starting to design their attacking line future by compiling a list of replacement candidates for Robert Lewandowski. Three big names are on the radar of the club from Catalunya, namely Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, and Alexander Isak from Newcastle United. This plan is sticking out amid fears of a decline in the performance of Polish strikers who will turn 37 in August.
Although Lewandowski will still be the spearhead of next season, his outstanding performance by scoring 42 goals last season is believed to not last long given his aging age. Barcelona, which recently secured Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan, doesn't seem to want to depend too much on the combination of Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal like the 2024-2025 season.
According to a report from Ficajes, Barcelona has anticipated this situation and is starting to compile a list of targets for the summer of 2026. Erling Haaland's name is in the main spotlight, although the Norwegian is known to operate more in the penalty box and has made minimal contributions in the game build-up. Haaland last season scored 22 league goals and recorded only three assists, with a total of 381 low-lying passes among all Manchester City players who appeared more than 1,350 minutes.

Julian Alvarez, who is now defending Atletico Madrid after leaving Manchester City, has appeared more active in the team's game with a total of 966 passes and 17 goals, as well as four assists. However, of the three, Alexander Isak appeared the most complete. The Swedish striker scored 23 league goals, contributed six assists, and recorded 0.95 goal contributions per 90 minutes. He was also involved in 689 passes, making it the ideal combination between the finisher and creator.
With all three strikers having their own advantages, Alexander Isak is considered the most suitable to replace Lewandowski's role in the Barcelona squad. He has qualified, sharp technical abilities in front of goal, and is flexible enough to adapt to Barcelona's style of play which demands an active role from strikers in building attacks.
Although until now there has been no official approach, it is estimated that Barcelona will start moving next year to secure one of the three names. If Lewandowski decides to hang up his shoes or their performance will drop drastically, Barcelona will be ready with the regeneration of the front lines that have been designed from an early age.
