Governor Of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi Angry, Mayor Of Medan Bobby Nasution Calm, Stay Focused On Work

MEDAN - North Sumatra Governor (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi was angry with Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution because of the quarantine location in North Sumatra.

But Bobby Nasution, who is also President Jokowi's son-in-law, remains calm. He focuses on continuing his work as mayor of Medan.

One of them was demonstrated through a Ramadan safari at the Al Akbar Mosque on Petunia Raya street, Namo Gajah Village, Medan Tuntung District, Thursday, May 6 evening.

The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, spoke again about the Mandiri Mosque program, in which the mosque is not only a place of worship but also a center of civilization for the people and a center for the economy of the public.

Moreover, in Medan there are 1,115 mosques, if all mosques can be empowered, the mayor is confident that he will be able to support the economy of his congregation through various public economic activities so that later the congregation and the mosque will be more prosperous.

In addition, Mayor Bobby Nasution also reminded the congregation who attended to adhere to health protocols, because the COVID-19 pandemic is still hitting Medan City.

One of the efforts to overcome the spread of COVID-19, Mayor Bobby Nasution invited the congregation to comply with the government's recommendation not to carry out the Eid homecoming tradition.

The Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution emphasized that all must be united to comply with health protocols and the COVID-19 case in India, one of which is due to religious activities that can be used as a shared lesson. Regarding this, the mayor does not want Eid al-Fitr 1442H to be blamed for spreading COVID-19. Therefore, Mayor Bobby advised Muslims in Medan to keep this from happening.

Bobby Nasution also appealed to people who want to do takbiran to welcome the arrival of a victorious night so that they do not go around the convoy, it is enough to carry out the takbiran in the mosque while still implementing health protocols.

Moreover, said Mayor Bobby Nasution, the Medan City Government will close 32 road points during the night of the takbiran. Likewise, with the implementation of the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Bobby Nasution invited Medan residents to do it at the nearest mosque in their respective residences.

Medan City Government does not hold Eid prayers at the Merdeka field in Medan. During the Ramadan safari, Mayor Bobby Nasution handed over assistance of Rp50 million for the construction of the Al Akbar Mosque which was received by the Chairman of BKM Al Akbar Mosque, Ismail Munthe.

This activity was also followed by the handover of compensation and souvenirs to orphans, as well as signing the inscription on the construction of the Al Akbar Mosque.
