Danantara Prepares Corporate Actions For Garuda Indonesia's Restructuring

JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dony Oskaria, said that the restoration of Garuda Indonesia's performance is one of the focuses of the Danantara from 22 work programs that will be accelerated in the remaining 2025 time.

Dony said this restructuring would be carried out with restructuring. To support this plan, he said his party had prepared a series of corporate actions.

"We are currently restructuring comprehensively against Garuda Indonesia. This is also our priority. This stage is happening, including later some corporate action, both directly cash and non-cash," he said. met at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 23.

Furthermore, Dony said that one of the corporate actions prepared included expansion in terms of increasing the number of fleets.

Moreover, continued Dony, many passengers feel a decline in airline services. Therefore, he hopes that the addition of this fleet can overcome these complaints.

Launching from the official Garuda Indonesia website, currently the fleet owned by the national airline is 77 units. Consisting of wide-body aircraft such as Boeing 777-300ER as many as 8 units, Airbus A330-200 as many as 3 units, Airbus A330-300 as many as 16 units and Airbus A330-900 neo as many as 5 units.

"With the current limited number of aircraft supplies, my friends are also aware of the many declining services that are being felt. So we hope that with the addition of a fleet that will soon be included in our work plan, services will also increase," he said.

As previously reported, the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) announced that it would provide capital injections to Garuda Indonesia and Citilink Indonesia worth 405 million US dollars (US) or equivalent to Rp6.65 trillion.

The capital injection was given in the form of shareholder loans (shareholder loans). The funds will be used to fund maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) needs, which are part of a total funding support of around US$1 billion.

This collaboration is a continuation of the restructuring process that has been carried out by Garuda Indonesia in 2022, as well as marking the start of a new phase of Garuda Indonesia's transformation to become a healthy, competitive, world-class airline.
