Nurses Create Fake COVID-19 Free Letters In Central Kalimantan, One Sheet For Sale IDR 220,000
KALIMANTAN - The Kapuas Police of Central Kalimantan arrested 5 people who were involved in making fake COVID-19 free letters. One of the perpetrators was apparently a nurse whose job it was to write a fake letter.
Kapuas Kapuas Police Chief AKBP Manang Soebeti said the case was disclosed in the area of the homecoming blocking post at the Anjir Kilometer 12 border, East Kapuas District.
"We have secured 5 perpetrators who took advantage of the current situation, used and produced fake certificates," said AKBP Manang at the Kapuas Police Headquarters in Kuala Kapuas, Thursday, May 6.
The five perpetrators were arrested by officers at different locations. The police first arrested four perpetrators, namely as users of COVID-19 free certificates, namely HN, AR, MR and MN.
They were caught when they wanted to enter the Kapuas area by showing a certificate of negative anti-body test results or rapid tests.
The officer noticed that there was an irregularity in the certificate, then traced the letter obtained by the perpetrators. It turned out that the letter was fake and they claimed to have received the letter from someone who was in pursuit of the police.
"The four perpetrators received a false certificate by paying Rp. 100,000 per share," explained AKBP Manang.
The letter was used to make it easier for them to enter the border area between Kapuas Regency and Batola Regency, South Kalimantan Province.
The four actors are impromptu market traders from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. They want to hold an impromptu market in Pulang Pisau Regency.
Meanwhile, the MR perpetrator who was the maker of the fake antigen swab certificate was also arrested by officers. This arrest began when officers checked a resident of Banjarmasin who wanted to enter the checkpoint for the blocking of the flow back and forth to the border.
The officer found that the letter given from the antigen test swab was suspected to be fake. The letter was obtained from the MR perpetrator who was a nurse who worked at a clinic in Banjarmasin.
"The MR perpetrator worked in a clinic as a nurse and made a false certificate. One fake letter was valued at Rp220 thousand by the perpetrator, "he explained.
In addition to securing the five perpetrators of users and the maker of fake COVID-19 free certificates, the police also secured a number of evidences in the form of fake letters of anti-body test results and fake antigen test swab letters.
Then, a laptop and printer unit for making letters, an antigen test swab tool, hundreds of thousands of coins suspected of being the result of making fake certificates and a number of other related evidence.
"For the actions of the five perpetrators, we will charge him with Article 263 paragraph 1 KHUPidana related to making or falsifying letters with the threat of imprisonment of more than six years in prison," said AKBP Manang.
