Semarang-Demak Section 1B Toll Road, Innovative Strategic Project Integrated Garapan Sea Embankment PTPP Shows Positive Progress
JAKARTA - The Semarang Toll Road Development Project (Demak Section 1B) carried out by PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) shows positive progress and is an important milestone in sustainable infrastructure development in Indonesia.
The project worth a total of IDR 6.16 trillion (JO value) is not only aimed at unraveling congestion and increasing connectivity in the Semarang-Demak region, but also has a double function as a sea embankment to overcome tidal flooding which has been a scourge for the north coast of Semarang.
With the progress of PTPP's portion which has reached 52.473 percent, this project even exceeds the set target, showing solid and highly disciplined work performance.
This project received various appreciations, including the Zero Accident award for 1.5 million working hours without accidents. A number of national figures also gave appreciation for this project.
"The Semarang Toll Road is a clear example of how infrastructure development can be a comprehensive solution to flood problems while accelerating regional mobility and economic growth," said Minister of Public Works Ir. Dody Hanggodo.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono expressed his praise.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, conveyed the advantages of this project.
"We see the dual benefits of this project, from the economic side to the management of the tidal wave which has been hampering people's activities," he said.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Rahardjo said the Semarang 'Demak Section 1B Toll Road project is the first road construction in Indonesia to combine the toll road function above sea with the sea embankment function.
"In addition, this toll road will also have the first rest area with a view of the Java Sea, presenting an aesthetic and classy driving experience," he said, in a written statement, Wednesday, July 23.
Not only unique, Joko continued, this project also recorded ongoing construction innovations through the use of bamboo cones with template mall technology to ensure the accuracy of the design, making environmentally friendly materials part of the construction of large-scale toll roads.
