Endus Alleged Corruption, KPK Investigate Cirebon-Semarang Earth Gas Pipe Project

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating allegations of corruption related to the Cirebon-Semarang natural gas pipeline project. The process is still in the investigation stage.

"The case is still under investigation," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters quoted on Wednesday, July 23.

This investigation stage, continued Budi, was carried out behind closed doors. "So we can't convey in detail. We'll just have to wait," he said.

Similarly, the acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu stated that an investigation related to the alleged corruption was being carried out. But, just like Budi, he did not want to go into detail.

"Cisem is still running today," he said.

As reported from the website of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Cirebon-Semarang pipeline project is part of the transmission pipeline interconnect plan between the transmission pipeline network of Sumatra, West Java and the East Java transmission pipeline network. Development is expected to strengthen the supply chain of adequate natural gas supply and can be accessed by the public at affordable prices in a sustainable manner.

The signing of the Integrated Construction Work Contract Design and Build the Cirebon-Semarang Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Phase I will be held on May 17, 2022. The contract value is said to reach Rp1.17 trillion with the financing of the State Budget for Fiscal Year 2022 and 2023.

Cisem Project Commitment Making Officer (P2K), Irine Yulianingsih and PT PP-Elnusa KSO leader Eddy Herman Harun as the winner of the auction, which at that time put a signature on the contract.
