Export Briket Factory In Cirebon Burns, Losses Estimated Billions
A fire engulfed an export Briket factory in Tegalwangi Village, Weru District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, Tuesday, July 22 in the morning.
The fire is thought to have originated from an overheated production oven, then quickly grabbed all raw materials that were flammable until the factory building collapsed.
Deep smoke and towering flames were seen rising into the night sky. Local residents who panicked immediately reported the incident to the fire department.
Head of the Cirebon Regency Disdamkar Emergency Division, Eno Sudjana, said seven fire engines were deployed to the location. For almost three hours, officers tried to tame the red rooster who continued to burn in a fairly large factory area.
Initially, sparks emerged from inside the factory, possibly from overheating ovens, and grabbed wood raw materials. Because the material is flammable, the fire immediately spreads and is difficult to control," he said.

Although it did not cause any casualties, the loss was estimated at billions of rupiah because all raw materials and brikets ready for exports were burned.
Until the morning, officers were still in the process of cooling down to prevent the fire from reappearing from the remaining wood coal.
