Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Presents International Calligraphy Award
JAKARTA - The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, handed over his appreciation to ten Indonesian Kaligraphers who triumphed at the IRCICA 13th International Calligraphy Competition in Istanbul, Turkey.
The award was handed over Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Nahdlatul Ulama Center, Jakarta. This achievement is not only a personal achievement of artists, but also an important marker of Indonesia's position in the art of world Islamic calligraphy. The competition was held by IRCICA (Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture) in memory of Maestro Kaligraphy M. Abdulaziz Al-Rifai, and was attended by the best calligraphers from various countries.
Fadli Zon called this success as proof that Indonesian Islamic art has been recognized globally. "This achievement shows Indonesia's great potential in calligraphy. The government is committed to supporting expression spaces and appreciation of arts based on noble cultural values," he said.
