Manchester United Officially Gets Bryan Mbeumo From Brentford At A Price Of IDR 1.42 Trillion
JAKARTA Manchester United officially signed Brentford's flagship striker, Bryan Mbeumo, on a contract of up to 2030 and an option for an extension of one year. The club announced the certainty of this transfer on Monday, July 21, as well as being one of the biggest transfers on the stock exchange this summer.
According to internal club sources, the Red Devils redeemed Mbeumo from Brentford for a transfer fee of 65 million or around Rp1.42 trillion, with an additional potential of 6 million in performance bonuses.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international performed brilliantly throughout the 2024'25 season with 20 goals in the Premier League, making him the fourth-largest goalscorer in the league after Mohamed Salah (29 goals), Alexander Isak (23), and Erling Haaland (22). The impressive performance helped lead Brentford to finish in 10th place in the final standings, solid achievement for the London club.
Mbeumo expressed his happiness at joining his dream club since childhood. "As soon as I found out there was an opportunity to join Manchester United, I couldn't help it. This is my dream club, a club that I wore in uniform as a child," Mbeumo said in his official statement.
"My philosophy is always better than the previous day. I know I have character and mentality to move up to the next level, learn from manager Ruben Amorim and play with world-class players," he added.
The known flexible player appeared dominant last season, both when he was played as a right-right winger and center-forward. He has even started every Premier League game last season for Brentford. Since signing from French Ligue 2 club Troyes, in 2019, Mbeumo has performed 242 times, scored 70 goals and contributed 51 assists for the Bees.

As part of the preparations, Manchester United are scheduled to play three pre-season test matches in the United States. They will face West Ham United in New Jersey on July 26, against Bournemouth in Chicago on July 30, and face Everton in Atlanta on August 3.
The presence of Bryan Mbeumo is expected to be an important addition to ammunition in United's front line which is being cleaned up under the direction of new manager Ruben Amorim.
