Ministry Of Public Works And TNI Sign MoU Support Infrastructure Development In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) and the Indonesian National Army (TNI) signed a memorandum of understanding regarding infrastructure development support throughout the country.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti and Inspector General (Irjen) of the TNI Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saleh Mustafa at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Monday, July 21.
"This memorandum of understanding is not just a cooperation document, but a symbol of one main determination that development must reach all, not only at the center, but also for the whole country," said Diana.

Diana assessed that the signing of the memorandum of understanding was clear evidence that the collaboration between the Ministry of Public Works and the TNI to realize infrastructure development had a real impact on the entire community.
"The PU and TNI ministries unite not only to record promises, but to fulfill evidence. Not with symbols, but with real impacts felt directly by the community," he said.
He added that cooperation with the TNI had been carried out since 2020 and today was perfected into a more structured, strong and meaningful collaboration.
The memorandum of understanding includes strategic cooperation in the field of water resource management; road operation; drinking water (SPAM) and sanitation system; building arrangement; state home management to strategic infrastructure.
As well as improving the quality of human resources and priorities for the outermost, underdeveloped, border and disaster-prone areas.
"We really need a national army in Indonesia, so that this development can continue," he explained.
Furthermore, Diana said, one concrete example of TNI's involvement is the construction of road and bridge access in the border area of North Kalimantan (Kaltara).
At that time, he added, the TNI was directly involved in the implementation of infrastructure construction there.
"This is a tangible manifestation of collaboration that not only accelerates development, but also creates the presence of countries in strategic areas," he said.
Meanwhile, TNI Inspector General Lt. Gen. Muhammad Saleh Mustafa said the memorandum of understanding was a form of TNI and the Ministry of Public Works' commitment to support government programs in order to make national development successful.
"This memorandum of understanding is an extension of the memorandum of understanding that has been implemented in advance, in which the goal is still to focus on development, especially in leading, outermost and underdeveloped areas, earlier added (prone areas) are vulnerable," he said.
Muhammad Saleh hopes that the signing of the memorandum of understanding can support strategic-valued government programs.
"Hopefully we can realize this collaboration in accordance with expectations and more importantly can support the program of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto), especially in government programs with strategic value," he concluded.
