Indonesia's Gas Production Exceeds Target Of 121.1 Percent
JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) reported that throughout the first semester of 2025 Indonesia's gas production had exceeded the set target.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's gas production until the end of June 2025 reached 6,820 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), or the equivalent of 121.1 percent of the target set at 5,628 MMSCFD. Meanwhile, the realization of production in 2024 was recorded at 6,633 mmscfd.
Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Djoko Siswanto said the target for 2025 was lower than in 2024 because the year-by-year had decreased.
"But thank God, we have realized 6,820, so we have 121.1%," said Djoko Siswanto in a presentation on the performance of the first semester of 2025, Monday, July 21.
Meanwhile, total oil and gas (oil and gas) production was recorded at 1.797 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD), or the equivalent of 111.6 percent of the annual target of 1.610 million BOEPD.
The realization of gas distributed to consumers was recorded to be lower than production. By the end of June 2025, gas volume was distributed to 5,483 MMSCFD, or only 97.4 percent of the target of 5,628 mmscfd.

Djoko said that the realization of gas channel is indeed much smaller when compared to production because it is used for internal needs such as flaring.
"This gas channel is small because or lower, I apologize for the production. Because the gas is partly used for on use, as well as burning in flares, we can still see the production in flares," he said.
