Prabowo 3 Times Ordered The National Police Chief-Jaksa Agung To Carry Out Rice

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto during the launch of the Village Cooperative/Coperation of Merah Putih Village three times mentioned the National Police Chief and the Attorney General and ordered them to immediately take action against rice suppliers, who had sold ordinary rice with premium rice labels.

In his remarks during the launch event in Klaten, Central Java, President Prabowo said that he received reports that businessmen had purchased dry harvest unhulled rice (GKP) from farmers of Rp. 6,500 per kilogram, the minimum purchase price set by the government.

But the rice is then sold with a premium label, which costs above the highest retail price (HET).

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a fraud, this is a crime. I ask the Attorney General (ST Burhanuddin) and the National Police Chief (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo) to investigate and this act is a crime, and I get a report, a loss suffered by the Indonesian economy, a loss (which was suffered) by the Indonesian people, a loss by the Indonesian people is IDR 100 trillion every year (due to premium oplos rice)," said President Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 21.

The President then expressed his anger at trying to half-dead increase state revenue through taxes, while on the other hand there are four to five entrepreneurs who every year enjoy the benefits of deceiving the people to hundreds of trillions of rupiah per year.

"I convey this in this important event, because there are many regents here, many governors, thousands of village heads present, I consider this (rice supplier, ed.) to be a traitor to the nation and the people. This is an effort to keep Indonesia weak, continue to be poor. I do not accept it!" said the President.

Prabowo then ordered the National Police Chief again. Listyo and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to thoroughly investigate the mixed premium rice case.

"I ordered the National Police Chief and the Attorney General to investigate, take action! If they return the Rp100 trillion, okay, if we don't confiscate it, it will be milling about the rice," said the President showing his anger.

Finally, for the third time in the same speech, President Prabowo again ordered the National Police Chief and the Attorney General to take action against greedy rice polling entrepreneurs and take advantage of the suffering of the people.

"I believe that the Attorney General and the National Police Chief are loyal to the Indonesian nation and people. I believe you are loyal to the sovereignty of the Indonesian nation. Investigate! Act! We don't know how long we are still on this earth, we can at any time be called the Almighty, it's better before we are called, we defend the truth and justice, we defend our people," President Prabowo told the National Police Chief and the Attorney General.
