Disturbed Health Conditions, Adjie KPK Suspect Becomes House Prisoner

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the suspect in alleged corruption in business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Adjie is now under house arrest.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said Adjie could not be detained at the KPK Detention Center (Rutan). Moreover, the owner of PT Jembatan Nusantara was sent to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital on June 11.

"Suspect A is currently under house arrest because his health condition is not good," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, July 21.

Budi could not confirm how long Adjie would be detained at his home. He only said investigators would definitely monitor his health condition.

Even so, Adjie was still asked to come to the KPK office for questioning today, July 21.

"Examined as a suspect," he said.

According to Budi, this examination was carried out so that Adjie could be tried immediately.

"The KPK certainly hopes that the files will be completed soon and stage two can be carried out immediately," he said

Previously reported, the KPK named four suspects for alleged corruption in business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero).

They are former President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Ira Puspadewi; former Director of Planning and Development, Harry MAC; and former Commercial and Service Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Muhammad Yusuf Hadi; and Adjie as the owner of PT Jembatan Nusantara.

Ira, Harry, and Yusuf Hadi have now been tried at the Jakarta Corruption Court. They were charged with causing state financial losses of Rp. 1,253,431,651,169 or Rp. 1.25 trillion.

Prosecutors said there were a number of modes of corruption carried out by the three, such as changing the board of directors' decree. Thus, the implementation of business cooperation between PT ASDP and PT Jembatan Nusantara is easy to implement.
