Israeli Troops Kidnap Senior Officials Of Gaza's Ministry Of Health

JAKARTA - Israel's secret forces detained Marwan Al-Hams, a senior official at the Gaza Ministry of Health, outside the International Cross Committee field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday.

Hams, who is in charge of a field hospital in the region, was on his way to visit an ICRC field hospital in North Rafah when Israeli forces "seducted him" after firing, killing one person and injuring another civilian nearby, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.

As reported by Reuters on Monday, July 21, medics said the death toll was a local journalist who was recording an interview with Hams when the incident occurred.

The Israeli military and the Red Cross did not immediately respond to a request for a separate response from Reuters.

Israel raided and attacked hospitals across the Gaza Strip during the 21-month war in Gaza, accusing Hamas of using it for military purposes.

But the Hamas group denied the allegations. However, sending in undercover troops to make arrests is rare.
