KM Barcelona 5 Ship Fire, Ministry Of Transportation: Selamat Dievakuated To Manado
The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) said that all survivors of the KM Barcelona VA ship fire incident in the waters of Talise Island, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi, had been evacuated to Manado.
Director General of Sea Transportation Muhammad Masyhud said that while the deceased had been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital.
"Until now, the position of the survivors has all been evacuated to Manado. As for the victims who died, the bodies have been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital," he said in an official statement, Monday, July 21.
Masyhud ensured that all passengers of KM Barcelona VA listed in the manifest had been found, both survivors and those who died.
"The complete details will be submitted after the data collection process is complete," he explained.
Furthermore, Masyhud said that the main priority at this time is to ensure that all passengers are given adequate treatment.
"We continue to monitor the development of the situation and coordinate closely with all relevant parties in the field," he said.
KM Barcelona VA Ship Fire Chronology
Masyhud said on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at around 14.00 WITA, information had been received regarding the fire incident that hit the Barcelona VA Motorboat at coordinates 01.48.510'N / 125°00.701'E, east of Talise Island.
"This ship is on a voyage from Melonguane to Manado," he said.
Masyhud said the ship also had a warrant for sailing. However, he said, the KM Barcelona VA sailing order was previously scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 18.00 LT.

After receiving the accident report, he continued, the Joint SAR Team from the Maritime and Shipping Supervision Unit (KPLP) of the Ministry of Transportation deployed the KN.P 331 ship belonging to the Bitung PLP Base.
The Manado Class III Port Authority and Port Authority (KSOP) Office also coordinated with KSOP Class I Bitung, Manado City Basarnas, Bitung PLP Base, Bakamla Bitung, Manado Port Health Office, and PT. Surya Pacific Indonesia (ship owner).
A Handling Command Post has been established to monitor and coordinate the evacuation process and further handling.
Several SAR elements and shipping safety have been deployed to the scene, including KN Bima Sena (Basarnas), KN 331 (PLP Bitung), KN Gajah Laut (Bakamla), KM Barcelona III and KM Venetian (PT. SPI), and KM Chantika 9F (PT. Shipping Darma Indah).
