Prabowo Remembers His Father: I'm Emotional When Listening To PSI's Name

SOLO - President Prabowo Subianto admitted that he was very emotional when he heard PSI said. This was conveyed by him when he started his remarks at the closing speech of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress in Solo, Sunday, July 20.

"I am emotional when I hear the PSI word because my father used to be the chairman of PSI, PSI, the old version, the Indonesian Socialist Party," he said.

Prabowo said he was grateful because the old PSI version now has a successor with a new version, namely the Indonesian Solidarity Party. "Now there is a successor to the Indonesian Solidarity Party. Thank you for choosing PSI's name," he said.

Previously, the lively atmosphere welcomed the arrival of President Prabowo Subianto at the closing of the 2025 Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress, which was held at the KH Ahmad Dahlan Edutorium, Muhammadiyah Surakarta University (UMS), Solo, Sunday (20/7/2025) night.

Prabowo arrived at around 19.35 WIB, wearing a brown safari suit and a black skullcap. His arrival was immediately welcomed by Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka, PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep, as well as a number of cadres and other political party leaders, such as Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia and National Mandate Party (PAN) Chairman Zulkifli Hasan.

Not only official remarks, the atmosphere of the building was broken by PSI cadres shouting two terms of support for Prabowo. "Welcome, Mr. Prabowo! PSI supports two terms!" shouted the cadres excitedly.

The PSI 2025 Congress itself was held for two days, 19-20 July, and was attended by thousands of cadres from all over Indonesia. In the congress, Kaesang Pangarep was officially re-elected as General Chair of PSI 2025-2030, through an e-vote system by winning 65.28 percent of the votes, ahead of Ronald A Sinaga and Agus Mulyono Herlambang.

Not only choosing the general chairman, this congress also announced a big agenda in the form of rebranding PSI into the Super Tbk Party and changing the party logo to a symbol of a red-black elephant, as a symbol of strength and determination.

President Prabowo is scheduled to give a speech closing the congress as a form of support for the political spirit of the younger generation.
